Jim Peters' bloodline "Red" Pastel BCI

davel Sep 11, 2003 11:12 PM

Check out the red on this pastel produced this year by Jim Peters in Florida. Jim traced the lineage of his BCI group to animals imported from Leticia. Even with this much red, this baby is from an outcross instead of his usual selectively bred red project. His "red" bred to "red" boas are EVEN better. You can see some of this one's siblings on Jeff Ronne's website.

I also got a chance to pick the "choice" EBV Red Group boa from this years litter of about 30 animals. I am going to see which turns out redder.

My plan if to use them to add more base red color to my stripe albino project.

Enjoy

Nice animal. Just a note though. Boas from the Leticia region are Bcc. And the movements in Colombia dictate that all boas that have ever left Leticia are Bcc. There has been a lot of confusion about this matter for some reason.
