I was trying to get some pictures today for Charles to use on the web site he's developing for me and thought I'd take advantage of posting some here as well. He is a 2000 male from the only coral to coral breeding Pete Kahl did that year. I think he was the father of the sunglow litter my favorite hypo het albino, Ruby (earlier post) had in July.

Are Coral Albino's simple recessive, dominant, or just selectively bred? Corals seem very similar to Ronne's Pastel Albino, or is it the other way around...Ronne's seems to be from selective breeding.

Because corals seem to pop up randomly in many different litters, I believe (only my opinion!) they are a selectively bred trait. I would expect with this type of trait to see a higher incidence of corals in a coral to coral breeding but it's still a selectively bred trait. As you breed selectively for that particular trait through generations, you can make that trait carry more dominance within the subsequent breedings but at the end of the day......it's still a selectively bred trait! IMHO

Hey, I've got one of his sisters. A 2000 female from Pete Kahl, she is 6 1/2' now & will be paired with my 99' male at the end of this momth. This pic was taken early last year.

Your 2000 male is great. Here is another male he is a 99' but not from a coral to coral breeding. You can see a differnce in the amount of color from the 2000 but even so he is still ozzing lots of pink. What I would like to call a lesser coral phase.

Sorry about that, that one was a 1/4 Suriname cross. Here is the coral phase male.

You have babies or want to send that female here!!! I've got some interesting ideas for the corals and could always use another female of that caliber!!! I'm sorry I didn't buy more from Pete out of that litter!!
