i just got a brazilian ornage belly boa. When i was holding it at the show it was fine it was real calm. Now when i got home its real nasty it hisses and snaps at you to try and bite? Is this normal because it just changed environments also it was just fed. could that play a factor. Any help wis appreciated.

Are these known to bite? Will it calm down?

one more thing is i have a corn snake right next to it and he can see it cause i am keeping i for a friend for the night could this have anything to do with it. I seperated them.

This is not uncommon for any snake. The snakes are usually pretty cold at the shows and therefore pretty mellow. When you get them home and they start to warm up, they become more active. Also, you must remember it has been a pretty rough day for them-traveling to the show, being picked and poked at by everyone, then traveling home with you. Then, if that's not enough, here is this stranger trying to grab him all the time. Just give him a couple days, without holding him or anything, to settle in. Then just start taking him out several times a day. The more you do this, the more he will tame down.

contact whoever sold you that animal as a brazilian orange belly boa and ask them wtf that is?
second, don't hold your animal after feeding, this can (and very often does) cause them to puke up the meal you just fed them and then you've got a whole other set of problems on your hands.

as for the temperament, give it a week or two to settle in, then slowly desensitize it to you by opening up the container and just being around it (if it's aggressive and striking). then move on to picking it up and holding it for brief periods a couple times per day (except during feeding day and for 5 days after). after a while, it'll calm down and you'll be fine.

Im not sure exactly what its called i thought thats what he said but i guess i got mixed up. What is a boa called with a orange belly it looks just like a centeral american boa.
