Well, I've been kicking this one around for a while, especially after seeing them once again in Daytona. Why aren't they more popular? When is the last time you saw one mentioned on this forum,(one of the most frequented boa forums), Are they just overpriced, not attractive to the general boa keepers???? Basically I guess I'm just trying to see what everyone else thinks of them. I personally think they're awesome animals, and wish more people would start working with them and bring the price down a little. And what ever happened with the Motley argentine? Seems the biggest thing in Argentine boas right now is Mike and Stephanies Salmontines. Which, those are killer hypos if you haven't seen them yet, and the sunglows in that future will probably IMO blow away "standard" sunglows. But, the PURE argentine morphs, no ones buying??? Would love everyones opinions, take care!

I am a huge lover of any type of Agentine morph. Be it pure or not. Sure, some are better than others..........But, I love Argentines so much!!!!

I am a HUGE fan of the Salmontines........And, yes........I think they will make AMAZING Sunglows.

The T are killer. I would love to own some of those!!!! I really don't know why they are not more popular. Maybe it is because of Argentines past "stigma". I love them!!!!! I would own 10 of them if I could.

I havnt seen any for sale this year, last year I seen a few but none at all this year. I think those are sorta like ghost boas its not something that is going to apeal to everyone. I think albino boas and hypo boas wil have a larger apeal, not due to price but due to overall apearance. Personally I think the best thing to happen to the ghost market was Linda. She put alot of work into pushing them and getting the word about them out there early this year. When her and a couple others had them, to me it seemed like a the dbl hets and a few of the ghosts themselves were quickly snagged up. I have a pair of dbl hets here and it was her pushing them that peaked my interest. I would have bought thgem from her but someone offered me a trade I couldnt refuse. Trading feeders for snakes is my prefered method of payment these days. But I think these guys in the ghost market owe her a thanks for her efforts and if someon did like she did I think it would help the t arginitines as well. I think if someone snagged some nice ones and pushed them theyd come around. just my opinion.

Argetines are way underrated period. my favorite boa, and a terrific snake. the Albinos are absolutely stunning. and they get LIGHTER as they get older, NICE!

the adult Albino Argentine at the Daytona Show (Reptiles by Mack) was the snake of the show for me, truly outstanding, and yes, better than Albino or Snow boas. just exceptional.

Pete Kahl is working with some, as are the guys at Best Exotics, i think they will be a great investment in the years to come.

Thanks guys for your thoughts! I think they are one of the best things going. I have several "normal" argentines and have been considering the T Positives, or atleast hets. Bret(or Brett) from Best Exotics had some nice ones for sale in Daytona, Pete had some nice sub-adults and somehow I missed Macks table all together.....hmm, how do you miss something in Daytona???? LOL! Robyn thanks for the pics, maybe if every now and then others do the same, people might just start to appreciate Argentine boas. Their "ill-temper" is far from the truth. I sold some babies last year in LA. and this year I spoke with a couple people that had bought them....they told me they were "EVIL". I happened to have a sibling there with me and pulled it out without hesitation. I think too many people get babies, watch them open mouth hiss and are buffaloed(sp?) into just feeding them and cleaning the cage. In my experience, calling their bluff a few times is usually plenty to end up with a nice, calm, BEAUTIFUL animal. Well, I guess we need to get Linda on our side-LOL! Our own little Argentine spokeswoman. But, I think she'll have a hard time convincing anyone she's a bigger argentine fan than John L. Take care!

I have a reg (black) 6' Argentine, and cannot believe more keepers seem to not realize how awesome these snakes are. I gotta say, if I EVER see one like you posted, in person, for sale, something (not one of my snakes!) is going to get yard sale'd!! That is nothing short of AWESOME! Thanks for posting. "Chuck"

Just realized Robyn posted the pics. Thanks! Those are GREAT. Paul and I have e-mailed before and conversed on Argentines. Man, you think a young one can put out some sound...a six plus footer sounds like a crocodile!! VERY intimidating. But as was stated, they tend to be big bluffers. Occasionally mine wants me to think I’m within an inch of death if I pick him up. I pick him up anyway and he does not offer to strike. Also, he settles down almost immediately and is quite tractable from that point on. I am among the ranks of Paul and John on my great admiration of Argentines. Besides just mine, the ones I have seen in person are very alert, active, and muscular. I have come to believe (right or wrong) that these guys can be heavy sleepers, and may react a little on the negative side if approached directly at that time. Mine (and others I have been told) has never hissed or responded badly to being picked up if I get him when he is moving around in his cage. It is generally only when he appears "napping" that he gets cranky. Just an observation of mine (and a couple others), can't say for sure if there is any validity to that theory. Makes sense though. I can be a mild bit cranky to if awakened abruptly! lol. Anyone reading this who has not seen a good looking Argentine in person, check one out, you just might want to bring him/her home!
