Pro Exotics temp gun works great!

jdouglas Sep 19, 2003 01:05 AM

I just got a Pro Exotics temp gun and it works great. I shot all of my digital thermometers and it matched their reading within half a degree. I found that my boas were too warm. They were warmer than the cool ambient temp given by my digital thermometers. I think it is becuase I have the thermometers mounted on the sidewalls of the melamine enclosures, and the boas are closer to the heat. My digital thermometer read 84 degrees for the cool side ambient temp, and the boas were at 86-87 degrees. Anyone else use temp guns and like/dislike them?

I've heard mostly good of them too. Have debated for quite sometime on getting one. Hope some more people who have used them reply to your post. May get one in the very near future. If you have a different opinion after using it for awhile, let us know. Being a tech head and also wanting exacting results, the gun really appeals to me. Have a great one! "Chuck"

An accurate temp gun is the single most valuable tool anyone can own for the health and well being of their collection.
WELL worth the expense. Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you have a dog or cat, get a laser sighted temp gun... the hours of fun of having them chase the red dot can't be found anywhere else! :-D hehehehe
