Question in regards to feeding neonates....

jch Sep 23, 2003 09:29 AM

I have a female that is getting ready to pop any day now. Has anybody had any luck with starting out with f/t pinkie rats? This was my first time breeding attempt. A little nervous but excited at the same time...... Thanks for any replys.

I have had good luck with starting them with F/T. What I think is the hardest thing is seperating the ones that have shed and fed from the ones that have not, they never seem to shed and feed at the same time. You will end up with ones that have shed and fed and some that have shed but will not take food right away and then ones that have not even shed yet. Early this year there was a point where I fed a different snake every day for a week and a half. After a month or so they all were feeding on the same day. good luck
