I'M THANKFUL FOR THE TWO. MY CHAD BROWN FEMALE DROPPED ON
9-22-03. SHE HAD A FEW SLUGS, FOUR STILLBORNS, AND TWO VERY HEALTHY AND FAT LIVE BABIES. THIS FIRST PIC WAS TAKEN TWO DAYS BEFORE SHE GAVE BIRTH. SHE IS NOT QUITE SIX FEET. I WILL FOLLOW WITH A FEW PICS OF HER AND THE BABIES. FORTUNATELY, THE BEST BABY WAS ONE OF THE LIVE ONES!

THIS BABY WAS BORN ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER THE REST. I HAD ALREADY REMOVED THE FEMALE AND CLEANED HER CAGE. WHEN I WENT TO RETURN HER TO THE CAGE, THIS BABY WAS IN THE RUBBERMAID WITH HER. I FOUND THESE BABIES EARLY IN THE MORNING AND FIGURED SHE HAD DROPPED THEM DURING THE NIGHT. I HAD NO IDEA SHE WASN'T FINISHED! TOO BAD HE OR SHE DIDN'T MAKE IT.

THE TWO LIVE ONES. THIS IS A TERRIBLE PIC WITH POOR LIGHTING. I WILL GET SOME BETTER ONES AS SOON AS THEY SHED.

Sorry to hear that.

I had a female whom I yanked from breeding due to a badly infected tooth. She carried on later that year to die from retained slugs she never passed. You can see some of the slugs in the bottom left and right of the photo.

This animal acted normal and looked normal for months, dying real fast as far out as 6 months after the breeding incident. She refused food for two weeks, suddenly had nasty stools and died at the vet's office. I guess these are the taxes we pay when trying to breed these animals.

Sorry again about your loss.

Matthew
