How would YOU develop a pastel sunglow boa???

michaelburton Sep 24, 2003 06:54 PM

I have heard a couple ways to do this but I would like some other opinions. How would you develop a Pastel sunglow? What morphs would you need to start out with? Thanks
Mike

the easiest way would be to obtain a ronnie pastel albino, and a ronnie pastel/monster tail/ hypo (not sure what hes calling his pastel hypos now) breed them, keep the best looking double hets, and breed them back to each other. wallah, pastel sunglows after 2 generations.

and the Ronnie Pastel Monstertail Hypos are a 'breed' or 'morph' of their own. He has hypos, pastel hypos, monstertail hypos, and the Pearlescents.. just FYI
Joel DuBay recently had a litter of Ronnie Pastel Hypos Het for Ronnie Pastel Albino.
jeez.

by breeding a Ronne pastel albino to a DuBay DH Sunglow, whatever you produced from that pairing would either be Sunglow, Albino, Hypo het for albino (Sunglow), or Pastel 100% het for albino. How can you go wrong with that!! Not to mention, the yet to be produced (I think) Pastel Sunglow!

Now I know it is somewhat expensive to acquire the animals to produce this, however the FIRST litter produced would recover your investment.

Breed this.....

One of our 2001 female 100% hets from STUART to a very nice DH Sunglow we are hoping to get this week.

OR breed her to this guy.......

Our 2002 male EBV Red Group Hypo.... and make some SAHMOKING 50% hets I think.
