Hey everyone. I was wondering what you think of this. I have an '01 argentine boa and he's only 37 inches long and a little thinner than a toilet paper roll (just the cardboard). Isn't he very small for his age, which is 2 years and 2 months? Everytime I see pictures of '01 argentine's, they're at least five feet long!

One thought. He does have a small bulge about three inches forward of his cloaca. It's only noticable after he's eaten and disappears completely after he defecates. He's had since I got him 9 months ago, but he's been doing great since so never thought to get it x rayed. Could it be that he's hosting some parasites that has caused that part of his intestine to become inflamed. Would this stunt his growth??

From my past experience with BCO, I noticed an alaming growth rate. I had a female Argentine that I bought as a baby (had fed once before i owned her) and I fed her every 20 days. Within a year this female had surpassed both of my 1.5 year old BCI in both length and girth. It seemed to me that this boa was bigger everytime I took her out of her enclosure! In my opinion, BCO grow faster than BCI. Oh, I also had a male yearling BCO around this same time that was growing almost as fast.
