Boas change color as they grow... (photos)

Most true redtails BCC that I've seen are drab, grey and somewhat colorless at birth. Their colors peak at age 14-26 months. With these Tarahumara Dwarf Boa c. imperator, from Northern Mexico they are born fairly colorful, then become more pale before gaining adult coloration.

That 14 month old male really blends in with those leaves near him. The adult and the newborns are very similar, indeed. Thank you, Gus.
