I would like some advice on which species of boa might be right for me, currently I have owned mostly Ball Pythons, but have always adored the Boas from afar, absolutely the most beautiful snakes in my opinion. I would like something that doesnt get exceptionally large with a calm temperment and the grey to red body markings that I have seen on alot of these post
any suggestions would be much appreciated
I wouldn't necessarily consider myself an 'expert', but I think you should go with a male colombian boa (common). These usually don't get more than 6 feet. I never had a male that grew to an unmanagable size and all were tame. If you go to the breeder to get it ask to see the parents. That will give you an approximate indication of the size yours will get.
