I have learned all gentics, basics, and what offspring produces what,, Eccept a couple of things... I want to know what two boas you have to breed together to get a salmon... and what two boas you have to breed together to get a hypo. Nerd explains it in their genetics 301 But I can't figure that part out....Thanks again for everybody who helped...Joe

Isn't a salmon the same thing as a hypo, except salmons look different due to selective breeding?

Anyway, as far as I know it, hypo (and therefore salmon) is a co-dominant gene, so to make a hypo you have to have at least 1 hypo and 1 normal boa. To have a chance of making a super-hypo you have to mate together 2 hypo boas.

I agree with amanda. To produce a hypo you would have to have a hypo in the mix somewhere. Have you checked out rich ihle's web site on them?

Hypos were started by Jeff Gee. But Rich Ile has a strain of the Hypos from Jeff called the salmon Boa. Some people call Jeffs strain the "orange tail" strain. But I can still see know difference in the strains. To produce Hypos you only need one Hypo (or Salmon) boa.

Jeff Gee was one of the originators to work with them, but not the founder.

Salmon is a personal term developed by someone (Rich I.) who wanted to distinguish his better looking hypos from selective breeding.

hypo X normal = 1/2 normals, 1/2 hypos
