I'm still inexperienced is this breeding thing, but I would appreciate more opinions on this situation I see which my 4 year old pair of Brazilian Rainbows who bred last winter and gave me 23 babies and 1 slug on June 1,03. I don't know if it is better to allow them to breed or not. The male is larger this year, but the female still weighs 3 ounces less then when she was bred last year. I am currently watching what I never saw last year. The male is courting. The female is allowing it and it is 2 months sooner this year than when breeding began last year, although I did not notice any courting last year.

I have these snakes for pets, not to make money, and I don't want to harm them....especially the female for I intend to breed again.

Should I separate them? They have not even been cooled, I figured I had another month or so to decide. They are housed together, but I have another enclosure for when she is gravid.

Looking back, I suppose moving them into another enclosure cooled them enough.

boas are supposed to get bigger and stronger every year not loose weight!!! you shouldn't have bred her this year and if so not yet! you should have kept them separate them and feed her a lot to regain weight and get ready for another preganacy at the very least. a year break would have been the other better idea.

if she get pregnant hope that she'll continue to eat and if so feed her something not too large as often as she can take... otherwise i wouldn't ahve a very good forcast for this pregnancy.

i raelly hope it turns out well but to all those reading--- housing a pair together can results in pregnancies and sometimes these are to be avoided. breed only animals of good age and in TOP condition
