I have a few questions for those of you who know about salmons, I just aquired a female salmon, if I were to breed her to a normal redtail male would I get a salmon litter, or would any % of the babies have there mothers salmon color. I know its not a dominant trait, but im not understanding the outcome of the babies, what determines the ratio of salmon to normal, or would I get nothing but normal redtails out of the deal. Thanks for the help.

The hypo/salmon gene is a co-dominant trait so if you breed a salmon to normal you would produce about 50% hypo 50% normal. If you bred a salmon to another salmon your would produce about 25% normal 25% dominat hypo's and 50% co-dominat hypo's. in this situation you would not be able to tell the co-dominat from the dominat so all the hypo's would be possible dominat

you will end up with approximately 50% normal and 50% salmon/hypo..
