Locality ?

I purchased this boa at the Daytona show from amazingboa.com. I was told that they do imports and wholesale but I think he told me that they had produced this one. I was wondering if anyone could determine what locality it is or if it is a mutt as some on this forum would label cross breeds. It does appear to have a short almost bulbous head with eyes that stick out more than my other boa's do. It has quite a bit of pink coloration and very dark brown thick saddles. Any ideas?

I would say you have a very nice looking BCI of an unknown locale. Because you do not have any back ground information on the parents or any information on where it was collected (if wc) then it would be in my opinion impossible to determine the locale of your boa.

I have tried to contact amazingboa.com but the email that have on their site is not functional. Their site does say that their stock comes form their breeding facility in Columbia. If I remember right I asked the seller if he was an importer or wholesaler and I think he told me that he was an exporter and that they bred thier own stock at their facilty. This does not help me with locality questions though.

Hi Jared,

I remember who you are, and I remember the boa you purchased. The boa is from my breeding farm in Colombia and is not crossed with anything. According to my import CITIES, The boa are classified as BCC or Boa Constrictor constrictor so that is how I market them. Some people argue that the area were my farm is located is BCI (imperator) territory. My farm is located 30 minutes from Barranquilla which is a city in the north of Colombia. Its impossible for me to tell you who the parents are because we have over 100 breeding adults. But they are all Colombian boas. One scenario is that some of my breeding stock may be imperator, its to hard to tell. If you have any more questions dont hesitate to ask.

So I guess he considers it to be a BCC that has parents that originated in and remain in Columbia. Although it sounds like he is not sure about whether or not his stock contains BCI from his area around Barranquilla.
