I've had my columbian boa for like 6 months now, and i haven't had any aggressive behavure out of her... But these past two weeks i haven't been able to touch her because she constantly strikes at me, and hisses just by me walking by the tank. I'm wurryed that maybe she will stay like this i will eventually have an 8 foot boa thank can't even be fooled with. I don't know what could have started this.. i feed her in a seperate tank every time, and i always make sure i wash my hands of anything that would make her think of food... if anyone could help me i would thank you greatly..

I make no claims at being an expert, but my boa was doing that after about 6 months and she started to calm down within a couple of months. I had moved her to a bigger cage so I figured she must have got a little stressed, but now she is not quite a year and a half old and a very calm snake.
Have you made any changes recently to it's environment?

no i haven't, pretty much everything thats in there is all the same as when i first put her in there. The temp has droped alot sence its winter time and our house tends to get pretty cold, so maybe she's stressed about that.. but i have a undertank heater on it so i don't know.

I wouldn't stress about it too much yet. They seem to be more skidish when they are younger. Just make sure you handle her now and then, and don't let her striking intimidate you. It seems like they calm down alot once you have them out of there cage. Another thing that seems to help is giving them plenty of hiding places.

yeah usally once she's in my hands she's fine, but getting her there without getting bit is the problem..lol but thanks for the help!.
