i just looked at my ball python and noticed that the right side of his head looks as if it is going to shed. it is only the right side of his head. his eye looks grey not blue. he just shed last week. it looks almost ashy. when i put him in water it goes away but comes back in about a minute

try using purified water for your snake to drink and soak in. I have had this problem with my water here, even if I filtered it. Or it could be bacteria (scale rot) but I'm no expert

what kind of water do you have? i have well water
