light for heat......

please correct me if im wrong but for heat i can just use a regular light bulb right? What wattage would you suggest?

A regular light bulb can work for a primary source of heat if you own a small boa (juvi) but for a good sized boa (an adult) you will need a different source like heat tape or meat mat because it can take a very long time to heat a very thick snake. I use both and it seems the boas prefer to lay on the heat mat

I have a heat pad also its just i want another source to hea the other side of the tank. he never comes out of his hide box so i think the other side is to cool. what wattage would you suggest?

Would one of those red heat lights be ok? im pretty sure reptiles cant see red so it wouldnt interupt its day night scheduel right?
