i got a red heat light for my snake. he always stays in the hideboxand and never comes out. is there a reason for this? i bought the red light to try to make is tank hotter and i have an UTH. do you feel 60 watts is to much?

What do you mean "do you feel 60 watts is too much?".. use a thermometer and measure the temperature! You tell us if it is too much. And if it is, get a lamp dimmer to turn it down some.
