Is natural sun exposure beneficial to Boa's

Vargas Oct 10, 2003 03:32 AM

Is it beneficial to have a separate enclosure outside so that my Boa's can get natural sun on sunny days in California?
I am have some large screen cages that are secured and wondered if they would benefit from basking in there
during the day when I am home?

My second question is, are heavy screen cages safe for Boa's if they don't have sharp edges? If so would Hardwire cloth be okay and or HEAVY duty plastic mesh?
Thanks again, Steve

I take out my boas and pythons at least 3 times a week, except in winter. I don't know if it's beneficial, but they like it and they have great strenght compared to my cousins snakes which he almost never exposes to the natural sun. Why?, I dont know but my 4 1/2 foot male boa constrictor is way more stronger than his 6 foot male.
