i went to take my hogg out and she bit me didn't hurt just the shock part now every time i go by the tank she's hissing real loud what should i do oh btw i have a cage with mice in it right below her tank could this be why she bitting should i move the mice so she don't smell them advice please

my totaly tame ball python struck at me it could very well be the reason.

I have kept mice and rats in the same room with my snake and my monitor and I have never been bitten by either. I kept rats in the same room with an African rock python as well.. who can be notoriously agressive and was never struck at by her. So, to say that, that is the reason, is inconclusive at best... She could be feeling threatened.. How long have you had her? Some boa's..can be nippy and nervous as youngsters.. they mellow out eventually.

i've had her for about three weeks now held plenty of times and never got bit but i just put a tank with like nine mice and i went take her out and as soon as she got out she bit me

It could be the newness of the smell then... Once she gets used to the fact that they're there and staying there and you aren't feeding her when you reach in the tank, you shouldn't have any problem. The difference I had, was that all my rodents occupied my room when I got my snakes... so it was raised among that scent and knew that I wasn't feeding when I opened the cage.
