THE NEWEST HEDGPETHS....or.....another setback in my 12 step program....

LindaH Oct 11, 2003 08:42 PM

LEOPARDS!!!!! I've wanted some of these for a long time and finally weakened to the point of no return. Naturally, Jeremy was there to assist me in my dilemma He just lives too derned close to me. I love these jaunts to Jeremy Stone's, but dang it, there are just too many pretty snakes.....and I wanted to bring them all home!! I love these babies! The female is quiet and sweet. The male is a wanna-be spitfire....huffing, puffing and showing me his teeth However, after a few minutes of handling, he is sweet as pie, too. I love looking at their pattern. It reminds me of the byzantine link they use in jewelry. Thanks for looking.

I kept looking through them thinking "Darn that Linda!" (joking,of course! ) I really love the light facial markings on those two,as well as the "granite-like",fractured pattern. VERY,very cool! congrats!!!

an excruciatingly grueling process They are all so similar. Some had a little more contrast in pattern and others had really wild orange/red bellies. I tended to like the contrast in pattern, so that is what I chose, however these two have a little paler bellies than some of the others. I think a lot of folks like those red bellies better.....who knows I finally got a headache trying to decide - so I quit, and brought these home with me.

You should have seen me trying to decide on the T hets. Jeremy and Gaylynn were so patient with me - a blubbering mass of indecision. THOSE ARE REALLY SIMILAR! (I suspect they are actually clones) I finally had to close my eyes and point...haha!

I started falling in love with them when I first saw pics of yours. And yeah, they are strange looking, but I DO love that pattern. Of the babies to pick from, I chose these because they were lighter overall, making the pattern easier to see. I know they will darken with age, but hopefully, I will still be able to see it fairly well when they are grown. I got to see some of Jeremy's older ones and I liked the way they looked. I can only imagine what this pattern will look like down the road as a Hypo or Albino or Ghost or.....

Maybe you could post some new pics of yours sometime???

Great additions to an already awesome collection. I saw those leopards at Jeremy's and I can see why you had a hard time choosing a pair. Can you post some recent pics of your motleys?

LindaH Oct 12, 2003 05:29 PM

Yeah, it was hard to choose. It came down to slightly darker ones with really bright orange bellies, to lighter ones with paler bellies. The paler ones caught my eye.

I will try and get some new pics of Missy and Murphy. They are doing so well. I just love Motleys and there's one at Jeremy's I FELL IN LOVE WITH. It has a lot of golds, creams, oranges in it's pattern. Lordy, it is gorgeous!! I know you probably saw it. I tried to talk him out of it.........but NOOOOOOOOO !!!!! Honestly, Jeremy can be so unreasonable sometimes

Where can I find some of these beauties?I love those!

LindaH Oct 12, 2003 06:00 PM

You can email him at motleyboa@earthlink.net

He is also running an ad for them in the KS boa classified section. You might have to scroll back a few days to see it, but it should still be up.

I'll tell you now, pics do them NO justice. They are way more beautiful in person or "snake". There are a lot of reds, oranges, blues, and a translucent shimmer that just doesn't show well in pics. To me, their colors look flat in pics.....but when you actually hold them and see them up close, the colors are gorgeous!!

Jeremy Stone Oct 13, 2003 12:25 AM

Linda, those are Just awesome. You do have to say that as stingy as I am (lol) that I did let you have pics of the holdbacks I kept. So, now you have set the standard high for all other leopards. LOL You really did get TOP LEOPARDS, but you desearve them. Gaylynn always says that as long as Linda gets them, then that is OK for us to give up the goods because we know they are going to a well cared and loved home. As far as the leopards, they are just awesome to see all the variation in color and pattern on the snakes. They are one of the most intruiging morphs out there. They really don't even look like boas, but the body. That is what is sooo cool, and no two are the same. Glad to see they are doing well. It was fun having you here. Jeremy

You KNOW how long I agonized over them. If my choices were such standouts, it wouldn't have taken nearly so long. I must have picked up each baby twenty times......and said some bad words in frustration IMO you had several of each sex that were very similar to these. BTW, they are doing great, eating great, pooping great.....Great Scotts! There's too many greats!

Jeremy Stone Oct 13, 2003 12:40 PM

OK, I'll give you that with the males. You did go through a LONG process, but you did get to pic from the holdback females, and the one you picked stood out like a sore thumb. Even in shed she was a cut above the rest, and it was an EASY decision. LOL!!!!!!!!!! Just letting everyone know that there are some awesome ones still, but you did get the best female. LOL. I know, you did take a LONG time, and the decisions were very difficult. However, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and what might be the best to us is something totally different to othes. The hets were even more funny. IT took you forever to finally choose. BTW, the didn't want to eat frozen thawed this week. They still like Live. I'll keep working on them though. Take Good care of Gaylynns angels. lol I know you will. Jeremy Stone
