It's me again.I was just wondering if they can kill your boa???

A boid left untreated w/mites will become dehydrated from the lack of blood and the infestation can depress the immune system opening the door to other infections. Happens much faster w/boids that might already have ailments. Mites suck...literally...kill 'em...then kill them again...and again...

Left unchecked,or,untreated they can multiply,and,"eventually" kill your boa,(or,any snake,for that matter.)if not completely eradicated they can cause septicemia,(pathogenic contamination of the bloodstream.)can one,or,even a couple of dozen mites around the eyes kill a boa in a relatively short period of time...no,not *normally*.there is also some evidence that has led to speculation that mites may be a vector for lethal viruses,like inclusion body disease,(I.B.D.)...hope this helps,there are countless articles that have been written on prevention,and,eradication,that can be found on the internet,and,several monthly publications....R...

and if i have time im going to take her to the vet tommarow..

About liquid Ivermectin solution. you should get rid of any particulate matter you may be using as substrate,(switch to newspaper,even if temporarily.)and the cage needs to be treated thouroughly with Provent-A- Mite,allow it to dry,and,air out overnight before placing the animal back in it. best of luck in your fight!

I'm goin to call the vet first thing this moring befor i go to work.I dont know if you read any of my poast about my baby boa that died of mites and now i dont want to make this mistacke with 5 foot feamle columbian boa...Once again thanks for all your advise..
