Hi First I am a Colubrid owner, who just took on the responsibility of nursing a Columbian Boa back to health. I was given this snake by a friend who sold it and got it back 4 weeks later with a story of the snake being mean.. I guess she did not eat for this guy. When my friend got her back she delivered 15 slugs and 7 babies. This was about 2weeks ago. She still has not eaten and he had no warm place to keep her. So I brought her home and put her in with my collection. We modified a cage to keep in the heat and humidity.. The warm side is maintaining ambiant air temp of 88-90'. I mist her once a day with warm water. At night I have a vaporizor i put on in the room for everyone it really makes there sheds easier..
I have only had her since this past Thursday. She seems to be warming up very nicely, she actually moved out of the heat.
My big problem question is eating. My friend gave me 15 frozen rats..jumbo size. She looks so sad shape and not very strong. I bought her a smaller rat and killed it and gave it to her this afternoon, but she showed no interest. She was hissing and turned away. Should I wait a few more days until she makes this cage her own and try to feed her overnight. And will she be alright until then. Her sKin is very loose and she is skinny.
Thank you for Any Help

yes i would deffinally look into an RI. My friend used to let his ride in his car with him to work. "he worked at a snake farm".. and he didn't realize but from the air conditioning being on gave it a RI. paid $900 to get it fixed and she ended up dieing a month later from it. "very sad"
