I have a female BCI who is most likely gravid. She was possibly exposed to male that had internal parasites. I don't want to lose her by not treating her, but I don't want to lose a possible litter either. Will Ivermectin affect the ova or embryo's? I would rather lose a litter than her so any advice would be appreciated.

I believe Ivermectin is used to treat external parasites (arthropods). I would recommend consulting with a vet before treating her yourself.

Ivermectin can be used on internal parasites....its typically used in cattle or swine, but more often used in herps. I am unsure as to the possible effects on a gravid snake. If you call a veterinarian with just that question, they will probably give you an answer without costing you anything.

What would be the advantages of using Ivomec over Strongid or Panacur?

Ivermectin is given oraly or by injection, entering the bloodstream thus killing internal & external parasites. A gravid female would have to filter this to her developing embryos by circulatory system. Lossing developing embryos can also kill your snake. Why guess and risk her health. Call your veterinarian.
