or what are you hoping to expect next year. Do you pair all your breeders together around the same time or do you space them out.

I decided to let my BCI's go first this year, I pair them up on 8/16/03 courting began right away and then copulation 10 days later! Both male and female show no more interest in doing it

Some time next month I will be pairing my Amazon Basin Suriname's together. I'm really excited for this one that I will probably keep all the babies execpt for one or two pairs or even a trio depending on the sex ratio and litter size. From what I hear the litter size will be small but the babies will be huge.

I've put two of my three pairs of adult Bci together and am hoping to have 2 litters next year. Note the 'hoping' as I put one pair together last year and the female faked me out - seeming to be gravid only to shrink back to her normal size. I think I may have separated them too early but I'm not sure...they 'seemed' like they were done. *shrug* That female has this year off. Of the two pairs currently together, one male and female have been piled together in what appears to be mating, while my second female won't let the male anywhere near her yet. Most of the rest of my animals that I want to breed aren't sexually mature yet with the exception of my snow corns. I haven't decided if I will breed them this spring or not...that's still up in the air.

Well, not really sure what to expect yet this season, but wanted to mention something on your BCI's. I have had pairs copulate repeatedly, then show no interest at all for a period of time. What I do when this happens(If I'm not 99% sure the female is gravid) is pull the male and reintroduce him up to two weeks later. You'd be surprised how often this will result in them courting and locking up all over again. I only mention it because I'd hate to see you call it good based on this observation only to miss out this season. Not to say this will happen, but I honestly would give it a try just to cover all bases. Either way, I wish you the best of luck with all your boas. Take care!
