HI...I have a pair of bci's that cage together all the time they are pets.I have not cooled them or gotten them ready to breed.Every year for the last 2 I believe the male starts with her.Now he has been riding her around the cage and spuring her.When would I try to feed her or do anything with either or do I just leave them alone?She was not prepared to breed as far as being really big.She has an ok size on.She is almost 4 and about 6-6 1/2ft. the male just under that.I've never had any breed or done anything with breeding.I have been reading stuff but haven't found anything that helps too much.I know about the video that Boaphile has but I'm tight on moolah now.I'd appreciate any help!THanks!=)

I'd suggest not breeding until you've learned a bit more about the process. However, since you do want some info, and since the moola is tight, I suggest you check out The Boa Constrictor Manual (Jeff Ronne a.k.a. the Boaphile, wrote the breeding section)if you haven't already got it. I've been 200% satisfied with www.herpsupplies.com and they often have the best prices on books.

I'd also suggest checking out the forums on the Boaphile site (the Boa Think Tank) and redtailboa.net. There may be more information specific to breeding for beginners on those sites that you can browse through. Also check through all of the boa breeders links on the main Kingsnake page. Many of them have good articles on breeding.

HI!THanks for your input.I have gone to the Boaphile's think tank and read thru his infoa nd pretty much have visited all sites and books that have the info.I do have a couple of books I guess I still feel dumb about it.Maybe its just nervous.The male has laready began riding her around and spuring her so I guess we wil wait and see and I will continue to read on.THanks so much!=)
