She was called DOG UGLY. I believe she is very pretty and now she is mine. She is my only Boa and I have a question. She has not eaten for a while before I got her. She is going to shed by all indications. When the eyes clear on my colubrids they usually shed in a couple of days.. Sheela's eyes cleared on Sunday...I have been misting her and running a humidifier in the room at night. How long before I can expect her to shed.. I am concerned about her eating. She had babies for her previous owner and has not eaten in a while. Thanks

Boas often take a little longer than corns I would say within 3 days she should be ready. Good luck. Boas are very rewarding. Is she a Central American? Please more pics after she sheds. Craig Kade

The person I got her from said was a Colombian central cross. I do not know that much about the species or subspecies of Boas.
I can see she has a dark red tail. LOL that is about as much as I can say for sure. I have tried to find pictures of Boas that look like her, but all of them are so much lighter.

Yes, please post more pics when she sheds. No one here will call her "Dog Ugly", in fact we will think she is beautiful !!

Also, she may not eat until after shedding. Sometimes mine do during shed.......sometimes they don't. Has she been eating F/T or live before you got her? If she were mine, I would offer her a thawed rat soaked in very warm water then blotted on paper. When you offer it to her, make sure it is nice and warm so she can sense the heat. Let us know what happens.

since she is quite large and quite lite (the yellow part) under all that black, that's rare for a central american, both the size and the color, and then the color at that size... lol
She does look nice though, I agree.
Nevermind what some may say, pop always told me 'Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!'
