I feel pretty safe in saying ackies are probably going to be your best bet. You might call Pro Exotics and ask Robyn if he has any due to hatch soon. If not he can probably put you on the right track. Get yellows, they cost less.

Later.

Look in the Kingsnake.com classifieds again. Pete Weis has some yellow ackie hatchlings listed. I bought one from him in 1999, and it's been a great little monitor, healthy, thriving, and not at all skittish.

I will sell you a Kimberly Rock Monitor for $750! You said you didn't have 700. but i figured what the hell, you probably have $750 . J/K

Yellow Ackies make a good monitor. Also, the Storrs are a monitor that a lot of people don't have. Just look in the classifieds man and at pics.

cheers, andrew

i, too, must sing the praises of the ackies. i have a yellow adult female and she is just an angel. she likes to sit on my head or shoulders and takes crickets from my hand. right now i have her set up in a 55 gallon tank, which is what is suggested but once she got acclimated she barely uses the space i've given her. they like to dig some, mine likes to dig more than she likes to climb. i have her on a mix of top soil and filter sand (more sand than dirt). she is such a wonderful pet, not skittish at all! i was seriously considering getting some of the Weis hatchlings that are on the classifieds, so you better jump on them before i do!
