Savannahs - single, pairs, or groups?

Cas Jun 17, 2003 04:52 PM

Hey all, I'm trying to put together some basic caresheets for the petstore I work at, so that all the staff can look up the important info on the animals we have whenever we need to - and relate the proper info to customers.

So, I'm wondering whether savannah monitors can be kept singly, in pairs, or in groups, as both hatchlings/juvies and as adults. If only singly, is it due to aggression or general stress?

Thanks,
Cas

Im sure there are some more knowledgable people that can help you but I can tell you some of my expirences. As hatchlings I have kept up to 10 babies in a 30 gallon but you have to watch them closely and I fed them individually. I only did that for space but it worked out great for me. As for adults I usually keep all adults seperate, expect I have two females that stay together just fine, I seperate them for feeding though. Keep in mind they are in a huge enclosure though, smaller territory might not work as well. Hope this could be some help.
