Hi,
I recently rescued a large female boa. She was turned over to me by the local shelter. She has been treated for respiratory infection with Baytril. Lately she has started pooping gray liquid. Unfortunatly my vet is on a month long vacation. He is the only vet in the area. If you guys might happen to know what causes gray feces or have seen this in the past please let me know. I will take the snake to the vet as soon as he returns, but I am afraid she will not make it until then. Thanks for any assistance.

I have seen snakes expel a greyish to greenish urate when they haven't fed for some time or haven't defecated for some time. It's possible that she's just cleaning her system out from having been kept improperly. I guess it could also be a result of the medication, though I don't know that for a fact as I've only rarely had to treat any of my snakes for infections and never for an RI. Hopefully someone else will chime in here with some other opinions. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
