I love using the black velvet for my photos but I HATE what happens when I take photos of animals at an angle...as opposed to shooting straight down. When I take photos of animals at an angle on that black velvet, the velvet picks up way too much of my flash and it ends up looking like the animal is on a blue-ish/gray-ish black material as opposed to a deep, solid black. Also, the black seems to drown out the colors of some animals too much...SO....

WHITE VELVET!

We went to the fabric store in search of a some white velvet. We actually had to order it from another store because apparently, white velvet is a little more difficult to come by. Anyways, it came in today and I immediately tried it out.

Needless to say...I LOVE IT! I think it worked out great so I now have a new background

Anyways, I just wanted to share this with everyone because I know several of you out there are interested in new photo tips and techniques!

First let me say those are great pics, second are those balls a proven morph?? They are very cool, but I am a little ignorant with the ball morphs.

Thanks for the compliment on the photos. As for the morphs, yes, those are proven morphs. The first Ball Python photo is of one of the female Genetic Stripe Ball Pythons we hatched about 3 weeks ago or so. The second Ball Pythong photo is of our Pinstripe Ball Pythons with another of the Genetic Stripe Ball Pythons we hatched out. The Genetic Stripe is a recessive gene whereas the Pinstripe is a dominant gene.

What Great snakes!!!! Did you produce those Genetic stripes??? WOW. I love them. I had some last year and have a few more clutches this year. That Pinstripe is AWESOME too. Not too many people have those. THat Motley is beautiful too. GREAT TIP. GREAT SNAKES!!!!

for the kind words! Yes we did produce those Genetic Stripes. We hatched them out about 3 weeks ago. There were 6 eggs and 3 of them were Genetic Stripes...one male and two females. I saw the photos of one of the ones you produced last year...that was an awesome little baby!

Gee, they all look strange to me, it's like it did something to the patterns...LOL... I see a bit of gray in the corners that you might be able to clean up with background lights. You still need an above flash to keep a crisp shadow ( contrast in stark photos..).. I have no idea what all of that means, my wife told me that and she gets paid to take pics.... Blue
