Kinda quiet here today.............

No cool monitor stuff going on anywhere?

Crap, I'd even go for the old UVA/UVB vs normal light stuff again.

How about some pics or something? That always starts a conversation.

My wife just hatched this little screamer a few weaks ago. She still has 4 eggs left in the incubator that are due anytime.

Me, I am still working with these big lugs. My female is getting close to breeding size. Maybe next year. (I hate waiting)

Hey Alex.

I was really just joking with that line.

The debate rages on and you have people that use them and people that don't.

I personally don't. Simply because a lot of the monitor guys I have talked to don't and in my oppinion are some of the most successful keepers out there. Folks like Robyn & Frank.

Do what makes you feel better but with monitors tendency to burrow & bask indirectly I just can't justify the expense or see the need.

Hope your little one is eating better

That one pictured is big enough to be breeding. I have a pair that size and my female is getting very large. I will have another female here soon to go in with my huge male. That should be fun.

Good luck with them salvators are awesome.

I hate to admit that it was the size and body shape of the animal that first drew me to Salvators but it has been the endearing personality and intellectual behaviors that has made me love them.

I truely think they are one of the greatest species out there.

Are you breeding them? I know you have a great looking one yourself.

Later.

I have a pair right now that are breeding. The female appears gravid but we will see she has been eating like a pig. I have a huge male aswell. I just found a large female for him, so with any luck they will also be breeding for me. I also work with cumingi's but my pair ended up to be 2 females one of which was confirmed by 3 infertile egg's that she laid.

I also work with a lot of other monitors as well. I just started into breeding them always kept them singly. My first was a sav. and then a water monitor this was back in 85 when albino burms still sold for $5,000. LOL I was just a kid then and well sorta still am.

Best of luck with them. Sorry about the Cumings. I guess all you need is a good male & you could corner the market. I would really like a couple myself one day. I hope John gets Cody a mate too sulphurs are awesome.

I remember when Albino Burms sold for that much! I refuse to stop being a kid.............things would get really sad then.

Later Jody.

Two of them are sumatrans the other is a malaysian.

Well getting infertile egg's from a lone female and getting a male to fertile them is not as easy as putting them together. Well I guess sometimes it might be but probly not for me LOL. As long as they are happy thats the main thing but if I can get them producing babies of course thats an added bonus. I'll be sure to let everyone on here know once they have produced for me. (of course there is the finding a nice male part I need to deal with). I need to find one locally though as I do not trust anyone to sex them for me.
