I seem to remember reading that when they shed, they don't like to eat. Can anyone verify this? He's 11 inches, in a 75 gallon, with basking at 130 and ambient around 85. Thanks.

you may be thinking of snakes. monitors shed over an extended period, and it should not affect their appetite unless there is some other underlying problem, like dehydration and/or poor temps.
