my kids are growing up (my 5 boscs)...

bengalensis Jun 24, 2003 09:59 AM

Hi all,

Well I realized this morning that my babies are running out of baby time .The biggest two (Barney and Loco) are nearly a foot now! Allie, Bilbo and psycho all range between 8-10in. with Allie pulling in at the rear. Ive noticed that they all have infact developed certain behaviours that are unique to each. This most outstanding example to me would be their hide selections. Each show a definate preferance to a particular crevice or branch (for Allie and Loco who prefer to sleep elevated in a log nook above the others. Always the same nook, I may add. Barney can alway be found in his little Hobbit hole of a burrow. While the other two, Psycho and Bilbo ALWAYS bunk together under their rock in the corner. I amazed my b-friend one day by precisely locating every monitor(nameing each prior to locating it). He shook his head and said "youre sooo weird".
What can I say, I know my kids!

Well, other than that nothings new. I wont be around as much due to my summer school schedule. 12-9 M-TH, PLUS my internship at the vet office on FRI/SU. I have to finish up as many pre-vet classes as I can before the end of the year . Itll all be worth it when Im at UC Davis Spr '04 Wish me luck!

Best Regards, and happy herping!

My kids are the same way. They are all individuals and have extreme personalities between them. Gator is a complete weirdo and doesn't use the hides he has, Peaches she relocates her hides by grabbing them in her mouth and pulling them. Breep just digs it's own and doesn't use the ones provided. The BT Makes a hide out of anything and everything including her water bowl. She'll burrow under it and flip it completly over. Go figure. I have weird children. But they are great kids and loved whole heartedly. They are growing like weeds too. Gator is 37" at 4yrs, Peaches 24" at 9 mon, BT is 20" at 5mon, Breep is 12" at two months.
Update:
The BT that I got as a rescue is doing SO good. She is eating large mice now, and her tail is straighting out and He color is changing to a healthy glow so to speak. She is ornery too!! I love it.

Hi Christine,

Do you have any new pics of your rescue? It was a BT right?
I would love to see your critters sometime. You could stop in and check out my little zoo as well. You would get a kick out of my little Boscs.

Latter,
Michelle
