Fertilization window

What is the window for producing fertile eggs? Must the mating occur just after ovulation, or may it take place any time before the eggs are shelled, to ensure fertile eggs?

Hm, no edit feature.
I'm aware that geckos store sperm, and mating could occur a long time before ovulation as well--I'm just interested how LATE it can occur to produce fertile eggs.
