Have any thayeri been born that show both characteristics of MSP and leonis?
Are they always either or?

There is a photo of an intermediate phase snake on Vivid Reptiles' website. I've seen them for sale once in awhile as well.

Definitely,
The one Robert Hansen posted below is a good example........The intermediates are leonis with wide saddles equal to the width of the ground color or thereabouts....For that matter I guess MSPs have real wide saddles....wider than the ground color.
