just a funny picture

i came home and saw my big male bci basking and thought to myself .. 'i guess i should have built a bigger ledge' .. he used to fit on there. but now after about two years and a jumbo rat yesterday he seemed to be having some trouble.
first pic is the one i just took, and the second is the same snake in the same spot the day i put him in the cage. just thought it was funny and decided to share.

i used one of many methods ...
the method i used was to carve out foam insulation to the shape i desired and attach it to the enclosure. then i coated the foam with tile grout and finally sealed the gout. there are websites which describe the process in much more detail.

the next cage i build i may be using either foam or making the formation with wire mesh (or lathe). then coating it with quick drying cement. i think cement will be more durable and allow me to complete the process more quickly.
