A special bonus every time! ...

Antegy Feb 01, 2006 08:44 PM

Hi everyone,

Here I have a question - let me preface it by explaining my usual experience whenever I take my burm out for some fresh air...

It is not at all unusual for my burm to [poop] when I take him out. I typically let him roam about, under my watchful eye, while I busy myself with things such as cleaning his cage, checking my email, reading, whatever.

Now, this really upsets me - as I'm sure you can all understand that its no fun to have a huge [poop] dropped on the floor in your home. It stinks, its a pain to clean up, and its not like I go into his cage and [poop] in there (not that I would, or that he would even be able to understand what getting even is all about).

So, I'm wondering if any of you have dealt with this, and what you have done to avert it. Maybe someone has found a way to help prevent this from happening?

Please share.

Thanks,
- Mark

LOLOL, it's hard sometimes to remember they ain't human isn't it? The only advice I have for ya Mark, is to plan your/his outings AFTER he does his thang. Unfortunately I'm sure he doesn't consider things like weather when he's gotta take a dump either. Good uck my friend.

Yea plan your outings. My guy does the same and getting that stuff outa carpet makes me wana wack him with news paper (like that would do anything) jk lol.

My guy wont "go" if he just did recently. Its funny though he wont do his buisness until I look away. If I leave the room for something ,briefly of corse, I always fear returning to "a special bonus". LOL

Depending on where you live, if taking him outside is an option this time of year, maybe you could try that first. I once had a boa that would wait until I took him outside... Wish they were all like that.

Otherwise either conside putting him somewhere like the bathroom where the floor is probably easier to clean, or get a plastic container to put him in while you clean. Then let him roam around with close supervision, so you can put him back in the contained if you see his tail coming up.

That is so damn funny.lucky for me its only happened once, my girls are easy to read and if they look like thier gonna s#@$ then I put them in thier tub first with some warm water to speed up the process so when they hit the floor no S#@$ on the carpet
