Mail ordering crickets is probably not right for you if you have just one animal. However, ordering superworms, mealworms and silkworms might be. Silkworms can be made to last a while if food is offered in small amounts.

Even if only feeding one mouth, 1000 superworms can be a great investment. Stick them in a tub of peat moss, and throw in some vegetables now and then, and they'll last for several months.

You'll be able to cut your cricket needs by half for several months with a good supply of superworms.

I've never had superworms come in dead. they're tough, and very cheap. Any of th efeeder supplies that can get them to you for $25 shipped or less(depending on temps.)is probably a good choice.

I too have minimal feeder needs with only Darwin, Skippy and the tarantulas right now but the cost and the unknown gutload and health when buying from a pet store is just not an option for me.

Premium Crickets in GA has "contract" cricket orders. You have a few choices of 50-150 every week or every two weeks for a total of 6 shipments. You can also add small amount of wax or other worms for minimal charge. I was getting 100 every two weeks (Darwin not eating much right now) and got 35 waxworms added to each order. I have used him twice for my crix and will again once my panther gets here. Absolutley great service, almost no dead crickets upon arrival, healthy, clean (NEVER found a dermestid beetle larvae) and a nice guy to boot! Highly recommend him. here's his link. He also offers larger quantities.
