My son was thinking of getting one, but I thought they were a little mean, my son is 12 and LOVES reptiles. We get the kind that the males are black, w/ red across the middle of thier backs.

Chuckwallas that are captive raised can make wonderful pets. I would not advise a wild caught one. You should see if you can find a breeder and learn as much about them before you buy. You should also make sure you have a good set up before you bring one home. You want your son to have a good experience with his pet. There is a lot of good information on the internet and people here are happy to answer specific questions (ie. lighting, feeding, setups, etc...)
