I was just curious to see some of the other snakes or herps the Dry community is keeping. My thing is Black and Yellow.

I have seen some Super Salmons that come awfully close......I personally only have one salmon but he has alot of black on his tail. I really like nice normals and that female up top I posted should be dropping a nice litter any day......first time breeding boas and I am really looking forward.

I got lucky. I produced black and white from a wild female first breeding. The male and one female are from Black Gap Road.

has produced some awesome subocs as river road has. It seems the prettiest has come almost to the end of the black gap road within the last 2 or 3 miles from La Linda except for the orange looking ones from 118 and river road ( not to mention silvers and blondes and a few other morphs found in the west).

I may be old , cantankerous, crabby, and cynical, but......

Sighthunter Feb 04, 2006 01:01 PM

This orange one actualy came from the Gap, I also have a trio of orange from Upper River road near Terlingua.

Here's a few of mine ...
1. New Jersey coastal plains milk (Ted Thompson by way of Anthony Chodan)
2 & 3. I hatched 18 tri color hogs last year. Sold all but one. Kept her because she was kinda cool lookin. Probably need to sell her to get another indigo.

Carmichael Feb 04, 2006 08:10 AM

Nice tri-color hog! I am working with an adult pair that I hope to breed this year (any advice?).....hmmm, perhaps a possible trade for that beautiful female hog?...I'm expecting baby indigos again this summer.

Hey Rob

Here's a shot of her today. Not as much white. I've seen black & white ones but no red & black ones. Pretty cool looking still - almost hypo looking in both pictures.
My pair were 18 months old. I was cleaning the cages so I could cool them off in November. I found that the female laid some slugs, so I put the pair together (in November). She laid 9 good eggs in Jan. Put them together again - 9 more good eggs in March. I then sold the pair to Jim Mcdonald and then in May, yep - she laid 13 good eggs for Jim (does the phrase "sperm retention" mean anything)? No male on the third clutch. I understand from Jim that she laid a few more times last year.
I have not done much breeding but these guys are by far the easiest. Just gotta get them to eat. About 1/2 ate f/t pinks right away, 25% ate later and 25% were problems. I actually sold about 1/2 of them right out of the egg. I tried the tuna fish scent thing and it worked great.
And I'm always looking to trade things (ask my wife)

You spend 1/2 your life saving to get a gila. You finally get one ... come home from work ... and find it UPSIDE DOWN!!!! This freaks me out every time it happens. Gilas must be like drys ... you can't have just one!!
Also, I sent my application for my permit on 12/12/05. It's now 2/3/06. For those of you who may be counting , it's been 53 days and about 3 hours. And I'm still waiting!!! I have an 05 eastern male waiting in N.C. for me.
