Breeding Mali Uros

Chickadee0104 Jul 26, 2003 12:30 AM

Hey everybody!

I'm new to the forum. I just bought a pair of Mali Uromastyx from two different sources. The male is a little larger the the female (two inches approximately) and much more colorful. Can I still successfully breed them despite color and size differences? If so, how do I induce them to breed? What special care do I need to give them? How do I incubate the eggs? Are Uros very difficult to breed? Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice!

Kissa

males are a lot more colorful than females. The males get inches bigger than the females so he is not too big for her. if they are more than 10 inches long you can probably breed them. Since the breeding season is over you can breed them next spring. They only lay 1 clutch every year. You have to buy an incubator to incubate the eggs. search hovabators on the internet. If you incubate uro eggs at 93 degrees F it will take 55-65 days to hatch. When the babies hatch you have to feed them dried poo from the adults. they need this is inoculate there guts to survive. go to Deer Fern Farms for basically any info you need on uros. If you can find it on his site email douglas dix. His site is at on this forum.
