Anybody have and use Pro Exotics temp gun. Just ordered one and in hindsight thought I would see if anyone used and/or liked them. I'm tired of the digital thermometers. Let me know!

They have a new model..... They used to carry the same one I have which I bought from Radio Shack for $19.00 on sale.
I love mine. I am always running around checking basking temps. In fact, I just changed bulb size on my bottom rack shelf because of it. When I added the 2nd strip light to it, the temp went up and I had to change the basking bulb. Had it not been for the temp gun, I don't know when I would have actually moved the digi therm to catch it.

I don't know if I bought the new one or the old one but I'm anxious to get it. I can get the temps on the cool side easily because the critters don't move around much on that end.
On the basking spot they keep moving the probe around. Then it dawned on me yesterday that I haven't been disinfecting the probes when I move them from cage to cage. Duh, what a great way to spread nasties. So anyway I bought the temp gun to eliminate the problem. I remember now that you told me you had one and really liked it. So much for my memory.
Ok, now, what do you keep your temps at? I'm trying to get more imput on this one. I've read/heard a variety or opinions. Falias keeps hers a little lower than mine. Ok, I'll stop rambling now.

the one you use came from radio schack and was 20 on sale casue every i have seen them they have been like 50 bucks or somethign ?

Yup,, it was on sale. It was around X-mass when my wife got me mine but I have seen the same sale several times at Radio Shack. Look in their flyer every sunday from the paper. That's were they advertise it.
It is the same one Pro Exotics used to sell. The only difference is where mine says radio shack, theirs had their name printed or had put a sticker over it.
The one Pro Exotics has now, looks a little different but I'm guessing it's just the newer model.
