Thinking i'm going to lose my Nigerian Uro....

I will of had this guy 3 weeks on saturday and still nothing.... he doesn't seem to want to try anything, i've offered, all different kinds of thawed veg's, all different kinds of dark greens, i threw a few medium crickets even at him, and nothing at all, its very active, and basks alot, but just don't want to eat, he looks a little slimmer, any idea's? i'm new to the uro world, like i said in a different post, i've been doing turts and torts for years but this is all new to me, thanks

i would suggest a vet visit and a fecal check for parasites immediately. if you share details of your husbandry, actual details (not just "setup is great" then perhaps folks can give you feedback on that as well.

vet visits are always good. parasites can cause them to lose their appetites. however, whenever i have a uro that won't eat and i am concerned about dehydration or losing fat, i will get an oral syringe from the pharmacy, flavorless electrolyte water (in the baby section of a store) and some veggie baby food. i mix the water and the baby food so the baby food is a little runnier and then i just plop a little drop on the lips of the uro through the syringe and wait for it to open it's mouth. usually once they taste the food, they are willing to take some more. i don't get alot of food into them this way but it seems less stressful than prying open their mouths and sticking a tube in their throat to feed them.
baby steps i handfed helga at the end of last week and the beginning of this week and now she is eating on her own. i am still hand feeding hugo though, although he does seem much much better today than he has all week
