Humidity Again

BDHomer Jul 26, 2003 12:51 AM

Hello again, have another Humidity Question.

I recently purchased a small computer fan to get my beardie's tank less humid. I dunno if I didn't set the fan up right or it's not working. How should I set it up inside? It's basically a little fan that clips on. I know if I put the fan inside the tank on the floor in the tank it will air it out better- but won't my beardie lose a limb or something if he reaches into the fan?

Also- What is a normal humidity temp? The highest it gets in there is 70, lowest is 40, but it's very hard to keep it at 40. It mostly goes around 60 or so. Is this alright?

Really worried about health problems for the little guy with a 60 humidity if that's bad. Any suggestions on how to set up the fan in the tank or outside the tank ( anywhere where it would help the humidity) would be great.

P.S.- I live in Los Angeles, the tank is about a foot away from a window that never gets opened and has blinds on it. I bought some humidity gauges and set them around the house today to maybe find a better spot to put the tankm but not much choices.

I wouldn't put it anywhere he can get hurt. What kind of enclosure do you have glass open top, custom melemine open sides? If it's just a glass tank it would be safer to lay it up on top.

Just a regular 55 gallon glass tank. Has wire top on one side, and no top on other side.
