I was asked by Steve Boyd to post this animal. According to Steve, this is the largest alterna he has ever seen. Enjoy.

Thanks for posting the picture I could not figure out how to do it. I purchased the snake in 1995 from Byron Barnes who used to live outside of San Antonio. It is a Juno road male.

No problem. I was trying to post the one with your son and the snake, but for some reason I could not re-size the picture where I could make it work. It kept saying it something about a bitmap, and it was not sent to me like that, so.oh well. I tried!

What is the largest alterna that you know about? Steve said 56 inches but I do not know for sure. Before he hibernates next year I will get another measurement. I purchased the pair from Byron in 1995, she is around 40 inches but nothing like him. She laid a clutch of 18 eggs with 5 blanks two years ago but unfortunately only 13 hatched. Well thanks again, I would love to see your collection some time this spring if we can get together. Vance

Not sure. Actually yours so far is the biggest one I have ever seen or heard of. When Steve comes back down, we could all get together and do some herping in East Texas, if Steve's not too afraid of the blue ghost lights of Saratoga!!!
