Gilas are up and about .....

jurassic Feb 03, 2006 04:13 AM

I have only kept them in the low 60's and they were inactive since December at those temps. Havent changed anything and seen the male walking around yesterday. I guess at this point I should let them react at there choice and if he stays out I will increase his temps and begin feeding him.
Female is still down, took a peek at her and she finished her shed at least, she had been working on from November.
Any thoughts? Will this early rise and temps affect breeding?
Thanks,
Robert

Robert, I have 1.1 gilas that always produce eggs when they are cooled to the low 50s, last year I only cooled them into the low 60s and they did not produce anything? I dont know if that had anything to do with it so this time I cooled them into the low 50s again, we will see what happens but I keep them cooled from November 1 to March 1.
