Going rate for hets

bigdee Feb 03, 2006 10:56 AM

I havent been to the NY show in a while and I may go to the april show. What can I expect to pay for a pair of het albinos? The last time I been online they where $700 plus now im seeing them for $400 and up so I figure at a show I can get a good deal.

Going rate is relative. How big are they? Who is the source? Are they strong feeders? Don't look at price alone. Personally, I have not seen a pair of 100% het albinos at $400. If I did, I would be real skeptical. Under normal circumstances, I won't sell a pair for under $600 as hatchlings. As they get older and bigger, the price goes up.

For snakes born in summer 05 we sold our albino hets around $800-1000 depending on size as that was the market going into the winter. Snakes would have been in the 175-300 g range then and this was a competitive price with most of the better known breeders. $600 was out there too at smaller breeders, $400 would make me suspicious.
