Jungle or Irian?

kiknskreem Feb 03, 2006 12:48 PM

I'm looking for an active (more than a ball python anyway) mid-size python. What are some pros and cons of a JCP vs an Irian? My cage is 50x15x20 so I was leaning towards an Irian. It will also be a display snake, so bright coloration would be nice.

Jungles tend to get bigger, but if you get a nice one, they look better IMHO. Either way, you can't lose. They are both great and require similar care. Good luck with your decision. One of my breeder males is posted below.

Although not as flashy, MacLott's are also nice. Easily kept, same requirements, not as arboreal. My female is 11lbs, 7', male (her father) is a bit smaller. Excellant temperment.
